I woke up to find America
Sleeping away
I hopped on my motorbike
Headed for L.A.

Met a girl in Flagstaff
Who loved my motorbike
She rode on back
We kept warm in the desert night
In her sleeping bag

Chorus
All we want is our freedom
All we want is our freedom

We headed north toward Jewel’s country
And worked to buy a van
The thing was nearly always breaking down
Thank God for rubber bands

In the cold of dawn my love confessed
Her vague sense of fear
The rising sun wouldn’t warm our bones
And we knew the end was near

Chorus
All we want is our freedom
All we want is our freedom
Slipping away

Bridge
We can get a house
We can settle down
We can have a girl and a boy
If we work enough
We can buy the stuff
That will bring us a new world of joy

Chorus
All we want is our freedom
All we want is our freedom
