Gabriela, clove and cinnamon
I hear your footsteps in the pounding drums
From the country, hidden by the earth
Now tend the fires of the hearth
Bathed in the waters of the men’s eyes who stare
And warmed by the arms of the sun from above
Gabriela, clove and cinnamon
At night you wear fireflies in your hair
Swarms of stars adorning heaven
Adore the mystery of your smile
Bathed in the waters of the men’s eyes who stare
And clothed by the moon high, higher above
Gabriela, clove and cinnamon
