Nana Schwartzlose and I had a great time writing two songs on Friday at The House of Songs. This first song we wrote is called “You and I.”
“The Hurting Kind” (Acoustic) — Live at Flipnotics
This acoustic version of “The Hurting Kind” was performed on September 8, 2011, during The House of Songs Presents at Flipnotics Coffee.
Special thanks to David Holmes for recording this video.
Flashback Friday: Soup Dragons “I’m Free”
“I’m Free” was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards and first released as the final track on side two of the British version of the Out of Our Heads album on September 24, 1965.
“I’m Free” was later placed on the Stones album December’s Children (And Everybody’s) in the United States. I first heard this version of the song by the Soup Dragons.
“Butterfly And Bee” written at The House of Songs with Kristian Harting
Here’s a video of Kristian Harting and I performing our song “Butterfly And Bee” at The House of Songs. This is the first take.
Flashback Friday: “Lovesong” by The Cure vs. “Crushing Your Head” by Kids In The Hall
Such a great song…such a terrible video.
Video embedding for “Lovesong” by The Cure is disabled by Rhino Entertainment and once you watch the video you will see why. “Lovesong” by The Cure is on YouTube here (link opens in a new page).
The title for the “Lovesong” video should be “Bob and The Cure Boys Versus the Slimy Stalagmites.”
Bob first appears to be alone in a cave. Next, he focuses on his hand and appears to visually hallucinate the band’s keyboard player into existence. In what may be the only highlight of the video, Bob promptly crushes the keyboard player’s head (à la Kids in the Hall) at 1:10.
Here’s the Kids in the Hall video, which is embeddable:
